Jiaxing Port to develop chemical terminal
Following a cooperation with SIPG on the development of its container terminal, Jiaxing Port in Zhejiang province has signed with Zhejiang Materials Industry Chemical Group to jointly develop its chemical terminal. The two companies will develop one 50,000 dwt chemical berth and one 5,000 dwt chemical berth with a total annual capacity of 1.91m dwt at Jiaxing port’s Dushan port area. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2015. “Currently Jiaxing Port has only one chemical berth which couldn’t meet the demand from a large number of new chemical projects here. The chemical terminal project will provide strong logistics support for the fast developing chemical industry in Jiaxing,” said Pang Cun, president of Zhejiang Materials Industry Chemical Group.
